Approach
While her primary focus is her artistic practice, Maryam also helps brands that seek to impact culture and communities beyond commercial profit by humanising their language and conveying their values through words, sound, and film.​ Over the course of two decades, Maryam has worked with global and regional names, including Visa Europe, Mubadala Investment Company, Ayana Holding, DEWA, Sheraton Grand, Hellooha, and many more.
Alongside brand writing, Maryam creates art films and poetic voiceover scripts that support welfare-driven initiatives, while offering commercial brands an evocative alternative to direct advertising by conveying, not their products, but their sentiments and cultural commitments.

Maryam holds a first-class BA (Hons) in Communications, Authoring, and Design from Coventry University. Her writing has appeared in international journals and anthologies such as Sky Island and Querencia Press. She is the recipient of many awards, most recently the 2025 Poetry in Motion Film Award (1st place), the American Writers Review Award (1st place), and the Kingfisher Poetry Prize (3rd place).
Her audio poetry has featured in award-winning short films, such as Under the Sun by Alla Dulh, and in immersive sound spaces, including the biophilic development Keturah Reserve by MAG Group. Her films, such as Not Alone, have received 10 first-place awards and 6 honourable mentions and have screened at 38 international festivals, arthouses and events, from the Sydney Short Film Biennale to Cinema Akil and DIFC Art Nights.
